Asia Pacific Space Centre's goal is to meet the growing demand for cost-effective launch services in the world communications satellite market. In contrast to existing launch facilities and services that were built and/or evolved to support governments and/or defence programs, APSC will focus on competitive operations and first class service to commercial satellite payload customers.
APSC's use of a highly reliable and low cost Russian launch vehicle, named AURORA, allows its forecasted launch prices to be amongst the most competitive in the world. AURORA will be capable of placing satellites in the full range of orbital inclinations, from geostationary through to sun-synchronous orbits.
In tandem with our pricing capabilities, APSC's investor backing enables the project to offer services with highly flexible terms and conditions. Flexible payment options and contract terms will enable APSC to support the individual business needs of its customers.
APSC is now developing both the AURORA and Christmas Island facilities with a firm schedule to provide commercial launch services late 2009. Facilities design and master plans have been finalised and construction will commence in the third quarter of 2007.
The reliance on flight-proven hardware and technology will enable APSC and its Russian partners to commence test launch operations in the third quarter of 2009, allowing commercial launches to commence prior to the end of 2009. APSC shall be fully capable of launching greater than 10 vehicles per year to meet the growing demand for cost-effective launch services.
APSC is also fully engaged in gaining the necessary launch license, launch permit, and environmental management approvals to allow the launch services and facilities to operate commercially and efficiently.
APSC's guiding principle is to first and foremost meet the needs of our customers. "Your Success is Our Success." This principle is driving the project's design, requirements and goals to provide a world-class launch service with capabilities that meet and exceed industry needs.
