APSC operates out of several primary office facilities. Asia Pacific Space Centre Pty. Ltd., located in Sydney and Christmas Island Australia, is focusing on the design, construction and operation of the Christmas Island Space Launch Facility. APSC USA Inc, located in San Diego, California USA, is focused on the marketing and sales of space launch services using the Christmas Island launch site and the Russian AURORA launch system. APSC USA operates as the primary customer interface for the conduct of commercial space launch services.
APSC has signed agreements with Russian contractors Rosaviakosmos (the Russian Aviation and Space Agency), Rocket Space Corporation Energia, TsSKB-Progress, and Design Bureau of General Machine Building (KBOM), for the development of the AURORA launch system and technical equipment for the Christmas Island space centre.
APSC has a number of strategic investors from Australia, the United States and Asia. APSC also enjoys the strong support of both the Australian and Russian Governments. The project has been granted "Major Project Facilitation" status by the Australian Government, ensuring that all government approval processes related to the project are facilitated in a timely manner.
The Australian and Russian governments have signed an Intergovernmental Agreement on space cooperation between the two nations. The Agreement makes specific provision for the development of a space centre in Australia and the transfer of necessary technology. (more..)
Government license applications have also been filed with the US Government with regard to the conduct of marketing and sales related space launch services licensable technical activities between the US satellite enterprises and the APSC venture.
